Think through your decisions

Think through your decisions: first decide “what” result you want, then decide the “price” you’re willing to pay to get it. Once you’ve mapped it out, your decision is no longer seen as an “obstacle” to overcome, but rather a “choice” you’ve personally made to partake and to succeed in it.

When making decisions in this fashion, we align ourselves to being more responsible for our decisions, rather than blaming others for them. We can be more inspired in taking ownership and pride in their outcome. Supposed "failures" are no longer seen as "defeats" but rather a place of growth and learning. "Failures" are then just a process of elimination which serves as markers of "what doesnt work" for us to have reference of next time. Sometimes that very place, if understood in perspective, can also ignite the makings of new creative works.

FINALLY!!!! PEACE...

My biggest lessons from 2012 (I dedicated my all to train for 2004 and 2012 Olympic trials and failed to make the team twice) finally realized in 2013.

Personally, i struggled for some time as to why my dream did not become my reality after dedicating a great part of my late 20's to 30's to my Olympic dream.

My mentor and social activist/humanitarian, Arthur Ashe said it best, "You've got to get to the stage in life where going for it is more important than winning or losing."

After years, months and moments of temporary mental defeat, it was all clear to me!  Thank you, Arthur!  This is what I learned.
  • make a plan
  • have faith in the plan
  • make a positive decision about your plan and continue to do so
  • the end will play out the way it should
What brings you moments of temporary defeat that having a plan and making a decision would give you clarity?

WHO SAID THAT?

All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make, the better.

Bad times have scientific value. These are occasions a good learner would not miss.
